Aerosil 200 is a hydrophilic fumed silica with a specific surface of 200 m2/g. Silica dioxide (SiO 2), also known as silica, is a natural compound produced from the world’s two richest substances. Silicon dioxide, most recognized in the form of quartz, is found naturally in water, plants, animals, and the earth. Earth’s crust is 59 percent silica and more than 95 percent of the known rocks on the planet. When you sit on a beach, it’s silicon dioxide in the form of sand that gets between your toes.

Usage areas

  • It is generally used for thickening and strengthening.
  • It is used in paints and coatings, unsaturated polyester resins, sheeted and gel covers, HTV and RTV-2K silicone rubber, adhesives and sealants, printing inks, adherent compounds and gels, plant protection, food and cosmetics.
